Auto-posting to VK: community key and publishing schedule
How to set up auto-posting to a VK community: create an access key, grant wall and photos rights, plan the schedule and stay inside VK limits.
What you need: a community access key
To publish on behalf of a community you need a community access key, not a personal one. Create it in the community settings under “Working with API”, choose the community as the scope and enable the rights wall and photos (plus manage if you want the service to check the settings).
- Open community → Manage → Working with API → Create key.
- Allow access to the community and the rights wall and photos.
- Paste the key and the community address into Postomat — access is verified automatically.
How posts are published
A post appears as a normal community entry — from the community, not from your personal page, so subscribers do not see a “bot” signature. For a post with images the service first uploads the pictures to the community album and then publishes the entry with attachments.
Good habits for VK auto-posting
- Keep text and images in one post instead of “text now, picture later” — engagement is higher that way.
- Separate announcements from long reads: VK hides most of a long post behind “Show more”.
- Do not post to the community and to your personal page with the same text at the same minute — subscribers see both.
- Move permanent posts (price list, rules) to the community menu, not to the wall.
Common mistakes
- Using a personal key — it stops working when the password changes.
- Granting wall without photos: text posts go through, but images fail with a permission error.
- Ignoring the publishing frequency: a burst of ten posts in a minute looks like spam both to readers and to the platform.
