Social media for a tutor: filling your schedule through a channel
How a tutor can run a channel and win students: trust-building categories, worked examples, reviews, and scheduled posting — a one-month template.
Parents pick a tutor on two things: whether the person can explain, and whether they trust them. A channel delivers both: regular mini walkthroughs show the method, while reviews and results prove it works. And since tutors are overloaded, the posts get prepared in one batch a week and go out on their own.
What usually gets in the way
- Students come only by word of mouth, with seasonal dips in summer
- No time for social media between lessons
- Worked examples rarely make it out to the public
A one-month calendar (Mon–Wed–Fri cycle)
| Slot | Type | Topic |
|---|---|---|
| Tue 17:00 | Useful | One exam task with its most common mistake |
| Thu 19:00 | Trust | A student's progress: 48 → 78 points in a year (with permission) |
| Sat 11:00 | Offer | September slots opening + how lessons work |
Four weeks means each row four times with different topics. Take the topics from the questions your clients ask.
Example posts — take them and adapt
The history exam task where 8 out of 10 lose points. The trap is in the wording "list them IN ORDER". We break it down in 60 seconds. Save it and revise before the mock exam.
Dasha started in September at 48 points in Russian. In May she had 78. The scheme: two lessons a week plus 15 minutes of homework a day. No magic — just a system. Three autumn slots are open.
September: two slots left. Format: online, 60 minutes, homework with feedback. Parents get a report after every lesson. Send the word "SEPTEMBER" in a direct message.
Rules for this niche
- Publish worked examples in the evening — students and parents scroll messengers after work
- Keep a visible count of open slots: honest scarcity sells better than discounts
- Summer posts about "not losing your form" bring students in by August
Keeping it going without slipping
Once a week, in a single 30–40 minute session: three posts from the calendar go straight into the queue for their slots. A queue six to nine posts deep is your insurance against a busy week. Turn on cross-posting to Telegram, VK and MAX — one piece of content, the whole audience covered.
Move the plan into your channel in one evening: create twelve drafts in Postomat and schedule the month.
Plans for other niches
Mechanics that work in any trade: the best time to publish and cross-posting to Telegram, VK and MAX. All plans are in the niche catalogue. This article is also available in Russian.
